Migration



   What is Migration?

  Migrations are all population movements which imply a temporary or permanent change of address.

   Causes of Migration

  *Natural Causes 
    For example:The displacement of   population  after an earthquake

  *Social Causes 
  For example: People have always emigrated due to religious,political and especially econonic factors (hope for better salaries)


   Types of Migration

  *As for Duration: There are temporary migrations

  Temporary
  When people return to their point of origin after a certain time 
  Permanent 
  When people stay permanently in their destination 


  * As for cause: Forced Migrations and free or voluntary Migrations  

  Forced Migrations 
  Have taken place throught history, Is estimated that are more than 20 million refugees  

  Free or Voluntary Migration   
  Usually represent people seraching for better living conditions


 *As for Distance:There are external or international migrations and internal and national Migrations    

  
   Nowadays, migratory movements brought about by economic reasons are the most common,  therefore than 80% of immigrants originally como from Third Worlds Countries
